After 2 years in the field, John Deere's Award Winning Quick Adjust Reels are proving their metal.

Available in five and seven inch diameters, these cutting units are setting a new standard on golf courses today. The five inch QA5 are available in 18 and 22 inch widths, and the seven inch QA7 are available in 22, 26, 30 inch. Their innovative patented technology have now been incorporated on all John Deere reel mowing equipment.

Last year the innovative Quick Adjust cutting units were also awarded the new product award from the IOG, United Kingdom's leading grounds management organization.

Listening to customers at events such as Feedback, has helped John Deere develop a product that truly meets the needs of our customers. Roll Over Protection Structures
are a Life Insurance Policy you hope you'll never need!

"...even with the smallest tractor sitting on your chest, your first breath will almost certainly be your last".
- F.A. Ford

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) said it best when this organization called tractor rollover accidents an "occupational obscenity". NIOSH holds that nearly all rollover-related fatalities could be prevented.

In 1971 California required all tractors with more than twenty horsepower, manufactured after April 1, 1971, to be equipped with ROPS. On October 25, 1976, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued regulations requiring all tractors used by an employee manufactured after October 25, 1976 to be equipped with ROPS. In 1977, California passed legislation requiring all tractors older than 1971 to be retrofitted with a ROPS by 1977.

What are ROPS?

Rollover Protection Structures (ROPS) refers to operator compartment structures (usually cabs or frames) intended to protect equipment operators by creating a protective zone around them. When used with a seat belt, the ROPS will prevent the operator from being thrown from the protective zone and crushed from an overturning tractor or from equipment mounted or hooked to the tractor.

AA Equipment awarded exclusive territory for Alamo Industrial

Joe Monteleone

Joe Monteleone, sales manager for AA Equipment is pleased to announce that an exclusive agreement has been reached with Alamo Industrial. The territory will include San Diego, Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino Counties.

The Alamo Industrial line includes rotary, flail, and sickle bar mowers known over the years as Mott®, Terrain King®, and Triumph®. Alamo Industrial's boom mowers offer many types of cutting heads including limb cutters.

Joe shared that this is a great fit for our company. "Anytime we can add one of the world's largest and top rated tractor-mounted mowing products to our line, and combine it with John Deere, the world's premier tractor, our customers are the ones that truly win. We can now offer more flexible solutions for our loyal customers".

This will be especially true to our Governmental market, because Alamo Industrial is the only tractor mounted mower manufacturer that has been awarded the State's NJPA contract. This contract (#081209-FCC) gives agencies the ability to bypass the bid process in order to expedite their purchase, saving them time and money.

From highway mowing to land-clearing products, AA Equipment will have the solutions you need to conquer those tough vegetation control jobs.

How to choose the right brake controller for your tow vehicle

An electric trailer brake controller is a device that supplies power from the tow vehicle to the trailer's electric brakes. Many styles are available that range from how they look and function, to the number of brake axles they control. There are two basic types of controllers: Proportional and Time Delayed.

A Proportional (or pendulum) brake controller senses how quickly the tow vehicle is slowing and applies the correct amount of braking power to the trailer.

A Time Delayed (or solid state) brake controller, as you step on the vehicle brakes, a pre-set amount of braking power is sent to the trailer. There is a slight delay as the unit ramps up to full braking power.

Proportional Brake Controller

With Proportional brake controllers, as you step on the brake pedal, a motion sensing device inside the unit determines how rapidly the tow vehicle is slowing and applies the correct amount of power to the trailer brakes. This type of brake controller provides the smoothest and quickest braking while providing the least amount of wear on both the tow vehicle and trailer brakes. Proportional controllers are "enabled" by the brake pedal switch and "activated" by a pendulum circuit that senses the vehicle's stopping motion and applies a proportional voltage to the trailer's brakes. When the controller is properly adjusted, the trailer will decelerate at the same rate as the tow vehicle, increasing braking efficiency and reducing brake wear. READ MORE
