The All New XUV550 Hitting Our Showrooms in January!!

Double your carrying capacity
Now there's a Gator™ Utility Vehicle with twice the human carrying capacity. It's one of the new Gator XUV 550s, available in a four-passenger configuration. The driver and three cohorts can ride to a hunting spot, job site, or no place in particular. Plus, the innovative rear seat flips down in seconds, giving you extra space for those trips with fewer people and more gear.

Accelerate. Room for four might be the first thing you notice on the new XUV 550s, but once you start the engine, you'll find many other performance features to enjoy. The John Deere air-cooled V-Twin engine runs smooth and quiet, and gets you moving fast—up to 28 mph. With a class-leading power-to-weight ratio, you're ready for all kinds of tough terrain. There's 4-wheel drive when you need it to move up steep hills or through slick spots. Plus, there's more than 9 inches of ground clearance, for rugged, off-road action.
Spend a minute behind the wheel and you'll appreciate the great handling of the new Gator XUV 550s. The lightweight steel frame provides class-leading torsional stiffness for superb handling and precise driver feedback. Add to that the fullyindependent double-wishbone suspension and you've got the ride and control for many types of trails and terrain. Comfort is further enhanced by a new dash, and more legroom for both driver and passenger.

Many options. The Gator XUV 550s can be outfitted to meet your specific needs. Choose the two-person model 550, or the four-seater 550 S4 shown above. The easydump cargo bed holds up to 400 pounds. You can choose from some 50 different attachments and accessories, including cab, front blade, brush guards, and winch. The new XUV 550s will be at AA Equipment in January. Take one for a test drive.

John Deere to Build Full-Size Sculpture of Combine with over 300,000 Cans of Food in World Record Attempt

OLATHE, Kansas (October 27, 2011) – To recognize the vital role that America's farmers play in feeding the world this harvest season, John Deere is attempting a world-record at constructing a full-sized sculpture of its new S-Series combine from more than 300,000 cans of food at the John Deere Pavilion in downtown Moline, Illinois.

According to Nicole Schneider, project manager, communications for John Deere Ag & Turf Division, the John Deere Project "Can Do" combine sculpture and food donation program are designed to raise awareness of the essential role farmers and ranchers play in producing safe, healthy and abundant food for a growing world population, while supplying much needed food supplies to a local food bank John Deere is attempting a world-record at constructing a full-sized sculpture of its new S-Series combine from more than 300,000 cans of food. during the holiday season.

"With the global population expected to increase from 7 billion to more than 9 billion by 2050, farmers will need to increase food production by 70 percent while using the same amount of land, water and other resources," says Schneider. "New equipment technologies, like the John Deere S-Series Combine, are important tools in helping farmers meet that demand."

The more than 300,000 cans of food needed to complete the sculpture are donated by John Deere with delivery from Hy-Vee Food Stores. When completed, the sculpture will be 60 feet wide, 80 feet long and 16 feet tall and will weigh nearly 170 tons. The sculpture depicts John Deere's new S-690 Combine, which is the world's most powerful combine that can harvest more than 350 acres of grain a day.

Helping to design the combine sculpture is a team from the Chicago office of architectural firm, RTKL. John Deere employees and retirees will also volunteer to assist with the overall project.

"RTKL has been involved in a number of canned sculpture events around the country but this is by far the most ambitious," says Dan Russell, project designer, RTKL. "We can think of no better partner than John Deere in combining the design, technology and the boundless spirit needed to tackle this massive undertaking. We're pleased to be part of the team for such a great cause."

The combine can sculpture will be on display at the John Deere Pavilion in downtown Moline, Ill., from mid-November to mid-December. All the canned food will be donated to the River Bend Foodbank when the sculpture is dismantled.

"John Deere is actively involved in many efforts to help eliminate world hunger and supports agricultural development for sustainable food supplies and economic growth in rural America, cities and developing countries," Schneider says. "Project 'Can Do' is a timely, unique opportunity to draw greater attention to the vital role of farmers and the growing demand for food."
